Cookie Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This is the complete list. nghtstand, Inc. uses cookies and browser storage only to keep you signed in, remember a few settings, and stop bots at signup and log in.
There are no advertising cookies on nghtstand, no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers. We do not run behavioural advertising, we do not embed social media pixels, and nothing on this site follows you to another one.
Strictly necessary
These cannot be turned off, because the site does not work without them.
sb-… (Supabase auth)
Keeps you signed in. Set by our authentication provider when you log in and cleared when you sign out. Without it you would have to enter your password on every page.
nghtstand
Our own session cookie, used alongside the one above to hold your logged-in state.
ns_view
Remembers for up to 20 minutes whether adult photos show for you where you are, so we don't work it out again for every photo. It holds your state or country and the answer, never your location.
ns_seen
Remembers for up to 6 hours that we already noted this sign-in (your account, address and browser, kept 90 days for safety, as the Privacy Policy explains), so we note it once instead of on every page. It holds a code, not your address.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Set only when you sign up, log in, or ask for a place to be taken off the map, by our bot-protection provider, to tell a person from an automated script. It is not used to identify you and it does not persist across the site.
Stored on your device, not sent to us
These live in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and we cannot read them from our servers.
nghtstand_travel
The city you last dropped the map into, so it opens there again instead of snapping home.
nghtstand_layers
Which map layers you have switched on, such as whether places are shown.
a2hs_snooze
Remembers that you dismissed the “add to home screen” prompt, so it stops asking.
nghtstand.sponsor.…
Remembers that you closed a sponsored banner, so it stays closed for 24 hours, and the day you last saw a sponsored pop-up, so you see one at most once a day. Not set for nghtstand+ members, who never see sponsors.
nghtstand.visit.pages
How many pages you have opened this visit, so a sponsored pop-up never greets you on the first one. Cleared when you close the tab.
What we do not have
- No Google Analytics, or any other analytics cookie.
- No advertising or retargeting pixels.
- No Meta, TikTok, or X tracking pixels.
- No cross-site tracking of any kind.
We do count how often the site is opened so we can tell whether it is working, but that is recorded against your account in our own database rather than through a tracking cookie. On the signup page we also count, with no cookie and nothing that identifies you, how often the bot check loads and is solved, so we know signing up works. Those counts are deleted after 30 days. Both are described in our Privacy Policy.
Clearing them
Signing out clears the session cookies. You can clear everything for this site in your browser settings at any time. In Safari, Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data; in Chrome, Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies → See all site data. Clearing them signs you out and resets the settings above. Nothing else is lost.
Because we set no advertising or analytics cookies, there is nothing here to opt out of, which is why you have not seen a cookie banner on this site.
